Position overview
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Science Officer, to join the team with a robust background in environmental science. Depending on experience, alignment with their professional aspirations and success in the role, the applicant may also be considered for the position of “Co-founder”.
This role involves partnering closely with the founding team to define and execute Kanop's scientific vision, drive technological innovation, and build a transformative platform for environmental data analytics. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the founding team to shape and execute Kanop’s scientific and technological vision.
- Lead the development and refinement of our offerings to ensure high accuracy and compliance with global standards.
- Drive innovation in the measurement and monitoring of biodiversity, biomass, and ecosystem health.
- Oversee scientific research and development, ensuring the integration of the latest advancements in technology and environmental policy.
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and data analysts.
- Ensure the scientific integrity and robustness of our data, methodologies, and reporting.
- Engage with regulatory bodies, industry stakeholders, and academic partners to contribute to, and stay ahead of emerging trends, standards, and policy developments.
- Represent Kanop at key industry events and conferences, becoming a key voice of the company.
- Present scientific findings and product capabilities to potential clients, investors, and partners.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
- A PhD or equivalent experience in environmental science.
- A track record of successful R&D projects and publications in relevant fields.
